It feels like it all began with the poppies. That's not quite factual, but I still remember driving through the hills of what became Silicon Valley, and seeing the golden poppies on the hillsides.
Today they make playful images. Maybe they keep me playful. I keep returning to them, just as I return to the trees. What's new, is the work has taken on a more abstract and minimalist direction, one I did not see coming, but seems ready to stay.
I work with cotton and silk for the most part, both commercial and my own painted materials, sometimes screened and stamped.
